Description: Following the success of our first webcast on IFRS 17 implementation in the GCC, we are excited to announce the second installment, which will take place on September 26. This time, we will have a new panel of experts representing the actuarial, finance, and IT functions. The journey towards IFRS 17 implementation has been complex, but it has also brought these three functions closer together, creating a true team effort. The SOA has been a committed partner in this journey, providing in-depth technical support to the industry. Our IFRI Certificate program has been well-received around the world, and we have also delivered several webcasts on the topic, including a three-part series with simultaneous translation to Arabic. This webcast is the second part of our three-part series on the implementation of IFRS 17, which went into effect on January 1, 2023. The series will focus on the lessons learned, challenges, and best practices that have been experienced in the GCC. In addition, the use of predictive analytics in actuarial modeling requires a different set of validation skillsets/techniques in model validation. Description: After the arduous journeys IFRS 17 filers underwent to implement the standard, it would only make sense for insurers to seek the best return on their investment post effective date of 1/1/2023. Many insurers are now embarking a new phase of the journey that involves wrapping up any unfinished business as they might have taken a minimum compliance route to finish implementation and thinking about the knock-on effects the new standard has on the way they carry out business and perform financial reporting.
